TABRIZ, http://www.caturbandung.wordpress.com – Tim putra India memimpin klasemen sementara 18th Asian Nations Chess Championships 2014 kategori catur standar setelah di babak kelima berhasil menundukkan tim putra Tiongkok dengan skor 2,5-1,5. India memimpin klasemen dengan skor 9 MP, hasil dari empat kali menang dan satu kali imbang. Tiongkok untuk sementara turun ke peringkat 2 dengan skor 8 MP (4 menang, 1 kalah), disusul oleh Vietnam dan Iran A dengan skor 7 MP, Kazakhstan (6 MP), Iran B (5 MP), Srilanka dan Yordania (3 MP), Iraq (2 MP), dan posisi terakhir ditempati Oman yang masih belum meraih satu nilai-pun.

Pertandingan catur standar dilaksanakan menggunakan sistem setengah kompetisi, 9 babak untuk kategori OPEN dan 5 babak untuk kategori WOMEN. Kontrol waktu yang digunakan adalah 90 menit untuk 40 langkah pertama dan 30 menit untuk langkah berikutnya, dengan tambahan waktu 30 detik per langkah sejak langkah pertama.

18th Asian Nations Chess Championships 2014 diselenggarakan oleh Federasi Catur Iran, atas nama FIDE dan Federasi Catur Asia ( Zona 3.1 , 3.2 , 3.3 , 3.4 , 3.5 , 3.6 dan 3.7 ), di kota Tabriz-Iran dari tanggal 20 sampai dengan 30 Mei 2014. Diikuti oleh 10 negara di kategori Open dan 6 negara di kategori Women, Asian Nations Cup  2014 akan mempertandingkan nomor blitz, rapid, dan standard. Pertandingan diawali dengan catur cepat, dilanjukan catur standar, dan diakhiri dengan catur  kilat. Masing-masing tim terdiri dari 4 pemain utama dengan 1 pemain cadangan.
